Marshall Phillips

October 12, 1945 ~ June 28, 2016

Marshall Scott Phillips, 70, passed away June 28, 2016 at his home in Golden Valley, Arizona, after a long illness. Marshall was born October 12, 1945 to Vince and Ruth Phillips in Ogden, Utah. He grew up in Kaysville, Utah and graduated from Davis High school.

He married Shauna Spencer and they had two children, Brent Phillips (Crystal) and Michelle Sill. They were later divorced. He married Nancy Seguin and welcomed two step children, Kelly Seguin (Kay) and Carrie Champion (Bret)

Marshall is survived by his wife, Nancy; his four children; sisters: Sylvia Hillaker (Bill) and Lana Brigance; and brother, Kevin Phillips (Mary); eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom Phillips; sister, Colleen Scothern; and granddaughter, Stacy Jo Seguin.

Marshall loved the mountains and he spent many relaxing days at their property in Manorlands. Riding the ATV's, fishing, watching the wildlife, cutting firewood; he loved it all.

Radio controlled airplanes were his passion and he spent hours and hours building airplanes and flying them. His planes were admired by many and he won two 50 mile cross country races.

After many years in manufacturing, he left his staff position at Chromalox to open his hobby shop, HT's RC's in Layton. HT's was the place to go for R/C planes, parts, advice and good conversation. Marshall added R/C cars and trucks to his inventory to meet the demands of the wheeled enthusiasts, too. After 10 years in business, it was time to retire, and he and Nancy moved to their desert home in Golden Valley, Arizona.

Marshall was an accomplished woodworker and created beautiful clocks, picture frames and also turned bowls on his lathe. He always had some project in the works out in his shop. Draw him a picture of what you wanted and he would make it.

He was a member of the LDS Church.

Cremation was under the direction of Lietz-Fraze Funeral home in Kingman, Arizona.

A Celebration of Life will be held August 13, 2016 at the home of his sister, Sylvia Hillaker, 975 E. 6600 S. #16, Uintah, Utah, from 2 to 6 p.m

The family wishes to thank KRMC Hospice for their devotion to helping us through this difficult journey. Words cannot express the appreciation we have for all of you.
