Sandra Turner (Simmons)

Sandra May Turner Simmons LAYTON – Our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Sandra Simmons, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 23, 2014. Sandra was born on May 26, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Morris and Thelda Turner. She married Bob Simmons November 1, 1963. They enjoyed 50 wonderful years together. Sandra was loved by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her creative spirit. Sandra was well known for her amazing floral arrangements and her beautifully decorated home. She will also be remembered for her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and her service in His Church. She loved serving in her callings and especially loved her time serving in the temple. Most of all Sandra will be remembered for her kindness and compassion in caring for others, especially her family and extended family. She loved her family and took time to show that love thoughtfully and individually. She was preceded in death by her parents Morris Turner and Thelda Bowles, her brother Richard Turner, her sisters DeAnn Turner and Cindy Vest, and her sister-in-law Jeanie Simmons. She is survived by her husband Bob Simmons, her children Scott (Nancy) Simmons, Schalane (Rodney) Peterson; her grandchildren Sarah (Aaron) Dupaix, Katelyn Peterson, Mckenna Peterson, Tayler Peterson, Matthew Simmons, and Luke Simmons; her sister Merese Jensen, and her brothers Ron Turner, Steve Turner, and Jay Turner. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Layton Utah Legacy Stake Center, 752 N. 3700 West. Friends may visit with family on Sunday, March 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow immediately after at the Farmington City Cemetery.

Lynda Carver (Thompson)

Sandra was a very sweet friend that was always kind and thoughtful.   I am so sad to hear of her death.  My sympathy to her husband, children and grandchildren.
